On November 10th, Jane Zisk, landscape artist, will presented “Beyond the Landscape”, a program dealing with a contemporary approach to abstracting and painting the landscape from memory and visual reference.  She is the founder of the CT Plein Air Painters Society and has worked in the art industry for almost 30 years.  This event will also be at Welles Turner Library from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend. Admission is free.

The President’s Appreciation Party: The President’s Appreciation Party was held Friday, November 18th, 5:30-7:30 p.m., at Pazzo’s Italian Cafe, Hebron Avenue downtown Glastonbury. Friends, sponsors, and members were on hand to celebrate another successful year for the Art Guild. Use the Events pull-down menu (above right) for more information.



Holiday Fine Art Exhibition & Sale:

Give the gift of art and your purchase is two gifts in one.

GLASTONBURY, October 12, 2011— Nothing enhances the beauty of your home or your life like art. Ten professional artists, all recognized for their excellence and whose work is represented in collections (and museums?) regionally and nationally, will come together to benefit the Glastonbury Art Guild in a Holiday Fine Art Exhibition & Sale, December 10 and 11, 2011 at the Hilton Garden Homewood Suites, 65 Glastonbury Blvd., Glastonbury, CT. Exhibition and sale hours are 10 am – 5 pm on Saturday and 10 am – 4 pm on Sunday. The artists, all members and supporters of the Glastonbury Art Guild, will generously donate a percentage of their sales to the organization. Patrons who purchase original oil, acrylic, pastel or watercolor artwork will also be able to take a tax deduction for 2011. Proceeds will directly benefit student scholarships, art education classes, professional programs, and other community initiatives of the nonprofit Glastonbury Art Guild.

The Mission of the Glastonbury Art Guild: The Glastonbury Art Guild is a non-profit art organization that provides opportunities for its members, students, emerging and established artists, art lovers and the community at large through programs, instruction, demonstrations, mentoring, scholarships, networking, exhibitions and sales to stimulate community interest and make art accessible and enrich and engage individuals in the creation and appreciation of art.

April Quast Shows in New Jersey: April Quast, dancer, artist, Art educator, Guild member and member of the Guild’s Board of Directors, was invited to show her artwork in the Arts & Music Festival in Hoboken, NJ. April was one of 600 artists participating in the one day event, that ran from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 25th. Interested in more information about the festival?
