Harry White – Fleurage, March 1, 2012, 6:30 – 8:30 pm, Second Congregational Church, South Glastonbury
Harry White will discuss and showcase his unique collage technique, Fleurage, using preserved natural materials – flower petals, leaves, moss. He assembles the materials through numerous techniques to achieve different forms of expression including landscapes, portraits and abstractions that reflect the magnificence and beauty of the natural world.
Ralph Acosta – Watercolor, March 8, 2012, 6:30 – 8:30 pm, Naubuc School, Glastonbury
Ralph Acosta, an accomplished watercolorist, will share his talents and love of teaching in a presentation about the use, freedom, transparency and spontaneity of watercolors, and the technique he has developed.
Laurel Friedmann - April 12, 2012, 6:30 – 8:30 pm, Welles Turner Memorial Library, Glastonbury
Laurel Friedmann will share her passion for drawing the figure combined with her love of color. Drawn to the intimacy of drawing the figure and portraying people going about their daily lives, scenes of people at work is a favorite subject matter.
Frank Federico - May 10, 2012, 6:30 – 8:30 pm, Welles Turner Memorial Library, Glastonbury
Frank Frederico will demonstrate his bravado in acrylic on canvas using the coloristic, contemporary impressionist style that has built his reputation over his long career. Believing that nature provides the catalyst, and the constant flux of rhythms, shapes and boundless energy, each of Frank’s painting has its own voice.
Sarah Stifler Lucas - June 14, 2012, 6:30 – 8:30 pm, (Location to be confirmed), Glastonbury
Sarah Stifler Lucas, an oil painter well known for her masterfully articulated and provocative interpretations of life, will present her work. Recognized by art collectors nationwide and abroad for her versatile talents and soft, subtle tones which characterize her canvases, Sarah will discuss her works in oil combining representational images with the abstract.
Roxann Leibenhaut - September 13, 2012, 6:30 – 8:30 pm, (Location to be confirmed), Glastonbury
Roxann Leibenhaut, an artist from Haddam, CT, will discuss and demonstrate how she views and interprets the world through her oil paintings. As a representational artist, she works to paint a scene that conveys an idea or feeling and make a visual narrative for the viewer.
David Dunlop – Watercolor & Oil, October 11, 2012, 6:30 – 8:30 pm, Riverfront Community Center, Glastonbury
David Dunlop, artist, lecturer, teacher, and host and Emmy Award-winning writer of the PBS television series Landscapes Through Time with David Dunlop will share his comments and observations, and will demonstrate in watercolor and oil his landscapes drawing from both Renaissance techniques and contemporary science.
Hannah Libman - November 8, 2012, 6:30 – 8:30 pm, (Location to be confirmed), Glastonbury
Hannah Libman will discuss and present her collages and the variety and possibilities that can be achieved with textures, forms and shapes and an endless supply of diverse materials. Learn why she feels she is sculpting with paper as the layers are applied to the image and how she has developed her techniques
