Holly LavigneThe Glastonbury Art Guild awarded its annual scholarship to Holly Lavigne on May 31 at the annual Glastonbury High School awards ceremony. Each year, the scholarship recognizes a senior at Glastonbury High School who shows exceptional talent in art and plans to attend an art school.

Holy said she loves art because “there are so many things you can dwell on that don’t seem important but are.” She added that she feels “very, very grateful” to be awarded the scholarship.

Holly has studied drawing, painting and computer animation at the high school, and she attended a painting class at the Art Guild. She particularly enjoys working with watercolor, charcoal and pastels. Next year, she will attend Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, where she plans to study illustration.
