Corina Alvarezdelugo Art of Encaustic
CORINA ALVAREZDELUGO – ENCAUSTIC, Wednesday, March 13, Friends Room of the Welles Turner Memorial Library, 2407 Main St., Glastonbury, 6:30 – 8:30 pm, presented free of charge.
Internationally recognized artist, Corina S. Alvarezdelugo will demonstrate and discuss encaustic painting. Born in Valencia, Venezuela, Corina studied under the guidance of Venezuelan painter and sculptor Luis Alvarez de Lugo during her teenage years. Moving to America, she continued to study fine art at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, CT and attained her BFA from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT.
Now recognized as an international sculptor and mixed media painter, Corina thrives on experimenting with new materials and techniques. Her award-winning paintings, collages, and sculptures have been exhibited at venues in South America, the Caribbean; and throughout the United States. Her work is exhibited internationally through web-based galleries can be found in private collections around the world.
Corina is a member of many distinguished art societies including the International Encaustic Artists. Her work has been shown in juried exhibitions including the prestigious Salmagundi Club in New York. She has won awards in the Guilford Art Guild, the New Haven Paint and Clay Club, the Society of Connecticut Sculptors, Connecticut Women Artists, the Connecticut Academy of Fine Art, and the Pen and Brush, Inc. of New York.
