Tony D’Amico, Making Waves
Tony D’Amico will demonstrate the art of “Making Waves in Oil” – Thursday, October 10, 2013, 6:30 to 8:30 pm, Friends Room, Welles Turner Memorial Library, 2407 Main Street in Glastonbury.
Tony is a master at capturing scenes of everyday life too often overlooked and his work conveys an idealized yet representational interpretation of the countryside, city or seascape.
In this demonstration, Tony will demonstrate the art of recreating on canvas the form and movement of wave action – a key skill in painting convincing seascapes.
Tony worked for many years as a commercial artist, illustrator and marketing agent for firms like Pepsi-Cola, Tiffany & Company, and eBay. Today, Tony is a full-time professional artist of award-winning oil paintings. His art is represented in numerous public and private collections. He is a member of the Salmagundi Club in NYC, CT Plein Air Painters, Lyme Art Association, Oil Painters of America.
Tony has studied with a number of nationally recognized artists such as Gabor Svagrik, Hodges Soileau, David Dunlop, John Traynor, and for the past several years with noted artist, Don Demers. Tony’s paintings have won numerous awards and are represented in numerous municipal and private collections. He is a member of the Salmagundi Club in New York City, the Connecticut Plein Air Painters Society, Lyme Art Association, Oil Painters of America, and is represented by The Geary Gallery in Darien, Connecticut.
