Melissa Meredith – Printmaking, Start to Finish
The fall season of Glastonbury Arts’ GOT ART series will conclude with a program featuring print maker Melissa Meredith. “Printmaking, Start to Finish” will be held on Tuesday, November 29 from 6:30 to 8:30pm in the Friends Room at Welles-Turner Memorial Library, 2407 Main Street, Glastonbury.
We hope you can join us for what will surely be an informative and enjoyable presentation that will provide insights into the art of printmaking. Whether you are an experienced artist or a beginner, you will learn something new about this art form which fascinates so many. Meredith’s programs are always well-received, because she is able to explain not only the mechanics of print making but also the elements of design and composition, all in a way that inspires and captivates art lovers of all skill levels.
The artist explains her passion in this way: “The observation of the natural world… its wonder and beauty is endlessly inspiring. My goal as a visual artist is to convey this sight with eloquence and skill as both a printmaker and painter.”
Meredith’s great skill and talent developed out of independent studies in Florence, Italy, a BFA from the College of New Rochelle, NY, and an MFA from the Pratt Institute, Brooklyn. Her work is featured in the permanent collections of the Kaiser Foundation in Farmington, CT, the Bank of America in Providence, RI, and the University of Connecticut at Farmington, CT. You can also find her work exhibited in galleries in Wilmington, VT, Ogunquit, ME, and Charlestown, RI.
