Joannidi and Hunt, Little Cat Metals
Little Cat Metals is the partnership of a husband and wife team of Carol Joannidi and Dana Hunt. Carol Joannidi is the founder, lead artisan and metalsmith of Little Cat Metals, classically trained at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Her designs are lightweight and durable. Inspired by nature, math and science and our surroundings, each piece expresses a timeless modernity. Dana is an apprentice metalsmith whose background with the IT universe brings a technological edge to this classical endeavor.
Stones are set in artist-made bezels allowing for a more diverse selection of stone shapes and sizes. No templates, molds, 3D printing or outsourcing is ever used. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, cleanly executed and named for the little things that inspire.
Each hand-fabricated design uses traditional metalsmithing techniques, using North American recycled sterling silver and gold with ethically sourced stones minimizing environmental impact. A primary tenet of Little Cat Metals is to make hand fabricated ethical high design jewelry for any budget. From “grab and go” earrings to a showpiece necklace, they strive to offer something for everyone.
