Kim Scoble

Kim Scoble, Newport Fisherman, oil
Although her work is representational, she does not strive for photo-realism and enjoys the tactile quality of oil on canvas. Her work shows a keen eye towards light and shadow and its effect on surfaces and textures.
This past year has been spent studying water scenes, both close up and from afar. She is fascinated by the way different light and weather conditions change the same scene and her paintings reflect this close observation. At the same time, she continues do commissioned pet portraiture.
She has shown her work in many regional and national shows. She is a member of Connecticut Women Artists, an elected member of the West Hartford Art League and has won a number of oil painting awards. Her paintings and portraits hang in private collections in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont and New York.
