Palette knife painting is a great way to add spontaneity and texture to your landscape painting!

The workshop will begin with a demonstration by the instructor on how to mix the wax medium with your oil paints and how to use the palette knife as a painting tool. The remainder of the workshop will be devoted to hands-on practive. The subject matter will be the choice of the student. Previous painting experience is recommended.

What to bring to the workshop: Bring your normal oil painting supplies. Note that there is a $5 materials fee for the wax medium supplied during the workshop, so bring a small container to take extra wax medium home to continue experimentation with the medium.

Three or more landscape or still life color photo references to paint from.
Two or more small canvases, 8″ x 10″ or 11″ x 14″.
Two or more small landscape paintings that you feel might be improved with the techniques you learn or that you would like to use for experimentation with the wax medium.

Saturday, April 16, 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Please plan to arrive at 9:00 am so that the workshop can start promptly at 9:30 am. There will be a lunch break from 12:00 to 12:30 so bring lunch, a drink and snack.
Fee: $100 ($90 for Glastonbury Arts Members) – Note that there is a $5 materials fee for the wax medium supplied during the workshop; bring a small container to bring extra wax medium home to continue experimentation with the medium.
