We have started the first phases of major renovations to our Art Center.

We are very thankful for our members, supporters, and community partners who have made it possible.  You haven't made your donation yet? It's easy, just use our convenient and secure online donation form. If you prefer to pay by check, complete the online donation form, print it, and mail it to us at Glastonbury Arts, 1396 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury CT 06033. You really do make a difference!

We are so close to our goal but we need your help to finish the job.

We have raised enough funds from our generous donors and savings accrued over years of careful fiscal management to begin work on the first phases of the renovation but we need your help to put us over the top.

Where your Capital Campaign donations will be put to work!

Over the past two years, we have been engaged in a major re-assessment of our art center and grounds.  As we look ahead to our next sixty years, we concluded that a major building renovation would position us well to continue our long tradition of enhancing the cultural life of our community. The renovation plan has these major objectives.

Enlarge and renovate the gallery. Our gallery has hosted exhibitions of the work of established artists as well as emerging artists, sometimes providing the first opportunity for a new artist to show his or her work. This renovation will allow us to reinvigorate gallery shows for artists at all points along their artistic journeys.

Enlarge and renovate the art studio. Thousands of students of all ages and experience have been introduced to the wonder of art in our art classes and workshops. This renovation will allow us to meet the changing expectations of students, allowing more space to experiment with different art mediums. It also allows us to “dual purpose” the studio, as needed, to host larger exhibitions, lectures, artist demonstrations, and special events.

Revise the interior plan to provide improved meeting, office, and storage space. Our Hebron Avenue Arts Center serves as the hub of activity for planning our art programming: classes and workshops, exhibitions, the free Got Art series of art lectures and demonstrations, and the nationally recognized On the Green Fine Art & Craft Show, free to the public and presented annually for two days on Hubbard Green.

Improve energy-efficiency, security, and accessibility of the art center. Our plan includes improvements to the energy efficiency of our heating and cooling systems and the installation of better, more energy-efficient lighting. New energy-efficient exterior and interior doors will save heating and cooling costs. Finally, our revised plan provides improved safety features to our building and grounds and improves handicap accessibility.

With your financial support, we will continue to foster art appreciation through education, exhibitions, art lectures and demonstrations, art scholarships, and mentoring.

Our 60th Anniversary Celebration at Rose's Berry Farm on June 26, 2022 kicked off our Capital Campaign.

Thank you – let's keep it going!
